Ultrasound Student Volunteers – Shepparton

An opportunity for Medical Students in the GV region to complete an introductory ultrasound training course in Shepparton.

Ultrasound modules are being offered in Shepparton by industry training provider Zedu. The Core Module session is suitable for students and we have a limited number of spaces available free of charge for final year medical students.

Core Module – Vascular access – Valued at $500

Use ultrasound system controls to optimize imaging for accurate diagnosis. Develop proficiency in probe manipulation to efficiently acquire diagnostic images. Use a systematic approach to conduct ultrasound assessment of the vascular anatomy for injection. Demonstrate ultrasound guided needle placement in plane and out of plane for vascular access and procedural applications using ultrasound simulators.

There is also an opportunity for students to stay on as patient models for the remaining sessions including eFast, Cardiac and Lung. Students who volunteer to remain on as patient models will gain exposure to the more advanced ultrasound sessions and receive a $50 Coles voucher for volunteering their time.

Session times:

• Core Module – Saturday 27th August – 9am (suitable for students)
• eFast – Saturday 27th August -12pm (seeking student volunteers)
• Lung – Sunday 28th August – 9am (seeking student volunteers)
• Cardiac – Sunday 28th August – 12pm (seeking student volunteers)
