Julian is the Head of the Department of Rural Health and Director of Medical Student Education at the University of Melbourne’s Rural Clinical School. Previously he was a UK Royal College of Physicians Tutor for Medicine and Director of Postgraduate Medical Education at one of the UKs largest hospital trusts. Julian is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy, the Academy of Medical Educators and the Royal College of Physicians in the UK, a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and a Professor of Medicine.
Shane is the Manager of the GV Regional Training Hub. Shane has worked in management roles in the health and community services sector for more than 20 years.
Shane managed Victoria’s first rural community Intern training program (the Murray to the Mountains Rural Generalist Intern Training program), an innovative rural junior doctor training program for the Hume region. Shane works with health services, general practices, students, junior doctors, and medical staff to support increased recruitment and retention of doctors in the Goulburn Valley Region.
Alana is the Engagement Officer for the GV Regional Training Hub, and has over 15 years experience in business development, marketing and stakeholder relations across a broad range of industries.
Alana provides support for students, interns, junior doctors and medical staff currently working or considering working in the Goulburn Valley region.
Ellie is the Administration and Events Officer with the GV Training Hub and has extensive experience in customer service, administration, and event planning across a range of industries including education and information management.
Ellie is looking forward to supporting the training and retention of doctors in the GV region.
The GVRTH Team are based in the Department of Rural Health (DRH) offices located in Shepparton, Echuca and Wangaratta, Victoria.
